Kyra Teis learned her distinctive paper-collage technique from her father, Dan Teis, an esteemed contemporary artist and academic. She is the recipient of a Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators Magazine Merit Award (1997). Kyra draws inspiration from her extensive travels, her husband and young daughter.
